This watercolor set was a good idea in many ways, but better paper should have been used. There is a nice assortment of paint with 28 colors to choose from. The inside of the lid can serve as a pallet for mixing. The flower sketches are very pretty, and it saves having to trace or transfer a design onto paper. However, the paper has a fairly smooth texture which does not hold water or paint, so I was unsuccessful in doing washes or bleeding colors. Paint does stay on the surface OK for wet on dry technique. It would be nice if the pages were perforated so they could be removed. The brush that is included is very blunt on the end, so it is difficult to paint on the drawings with precision. It will make a nice coloring book for using colored pencils, but I recommend using the paints on more suitable watercolor paper.
