There is just enough texture in the CP watercolor paper to make lovely ink with watercolor sketches. Back side is very smooth – more like Bristol, great for dry marks. Fits in the Lightwish journal nicely.

I like the idea of a ring system for color sketches. I mainly use it for any wet medium sketches. It did little to no buckle. I usually use a lot of water and multiple techniques on my finish pieces, but I’m treating it as a fun little sketchbook. I’m not sure how much it will buckle if you do wet on wet techniques. I mainly use wet on dry techniques and a bunch of glazing. I also paint front and back of the paper and had no problem with it. If you don’t like ur watercolor piece, you can easily remove it. I’m getting the cold press next time I need to replace them. They didn’t offer cold press when I first got it. This is an affordable watercolor sketchbook option that is 100% cotton.
