Art is subjective, and sometimes art supplies are, too. As a watercolor artist, I have tried many different brands of paper. I love the Baohong 100% cotton “grain fin” cold pressed paper the best. It has just the right texture and feel for me.

Excellent watercolour paper. Holds water well. Good pigment coverage. Even texturizing. Block is tightly glued and resisted warping under wet-on-wet work. One small issue with provided tool for separating the paper. It’s clunky and tears the paper plus it leaves dark marks on the next sheet.

I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of these watercolor paper blocks. For the money they are amazing. I know someone has complained about not being able to get their palette knife through the glue on the edge of the block but I have had no problem with that. I would rather have sufficient glue than have the paper buckle and ruin my painting. My one ‘wish’ is that they would offer a larger size block on Amazon: 10×14, 12×16, etc. Thank you for a high quality block at a reasonable price!
